Product Review: Lucy's cookies - Cinnamon Thin

I have tried many a vegan gluten-free cookie, and have almost always been disappointed. So when I picked up some Lucy's Cinnamon Thins, my expectations were pretty low.

Turns out they are delicious! They have a satisfying crunch, and a nice flavor. There's no strange aftertaste, either, which seems to be a miracle with gluten-free cookies. I'm pretty picky about flavor, but these cookies are just good.

Drawbacks: You might want to eat the whole box. They're also not really "thin" as described, but they are quite crispy.

Product Review: WOW cookies - ginger molasses

I also got this WOW cookie at PCC. This is a big cookie. I glanced at the nutrition information again when I got home and saw what I'd missed before - 2 servings per cookie.

The cookie itself was dense, moist, and chewy. The flavors of butter and molasses were overwhelming, which I thought was a good thing. However, if you don't like molasses (as many don't), this probably isn't the cookie for you. It had a nice, natural-seeming texture like a regular cookie that is slightly underbaked. Delicious!

Drawbacks: I did say, "wow," but it was, "wow, that's a lot of butter." I think this cookie is going to have to be a "sometimes food."

Product Review: Zing bars - blueberry almond

I saw Zing bars at my local PCC and decided to try them. I am glad I did! So far I've only tried blueberry almond, but it was a revelation. It's true: it tastes like food. Real almond flavor. I couldn't believe I was eating a nutritional bar.

The drawbacks are that this is not a traditional diet bar, and that while it says "high protein" right on it, it only has 11 grams of protein. Still, it made a nice snack.

They advertise no soy protein, which can be a problem for some.
